Right after I posted the update, I found out that Tyler was named Appalachian League Player of the Week! There should be a more detailed article on the Minor League Baseball website later...but for now...here is what I found.

I'm going to do this in two posts because of my extreme predjudice. :) This is the week 8 recap from the press...as I have posted in the past. (Part two will be my recap from the week that we got to spend here in Johnson City...lots of pictures & not a lot of stats!)
Johnson City Cardnials - Week 8 Recap from stlcardinals.scout.com
Who's Hot (Hitters)
2B/3B Tyler Rahmatulla leads the team in batting average (.335), OBP (.423), slugging (.599), and OPS (1.022). Rahmatulla (.335) was 10-for-26 (.385) with eight runs, five doubles, two home runs, four RBIs, and three walks over six games this week. Rahmatulla is first in the league in doubles (20), second in slugging (.599), second in OPS (1.022), fourth in OBP (.423), fifth in runs (38), fifth in total bases (100), sixth in batting average (.336), tied for seventh in walks (24), and tied for ninth in hits (56).
Also from www.stlcardinals.scout.com (thecardinalnation.com)
Tyler was player of the day on Sunday
"Tyler Rahmatulla went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI. He also recorded his sixth error. If you want a newcomer to keep an eye on, this is your guy. He’s posting a very good BB% of 12.4, has an OPS of 1.048 (second in the Appalachian League), and is showing impressive power for a second baseman. Rahmatulla is going to have to keep this up in high-A if he is there next season to really gain some attention nationally, but he is on the right track."
From www.minorleaguebaseball.com
"Double trouble: Johnson City Cardinals second baseman Tyler Rahmatulla batted 5-for-11 in a three-game series with Bluefield as the Cardinals forged a 3-3 split of the season series between divisional leaders. That performance pushed Rahmatulla's batting average to .336, fourth-best in the league. He's the only Johnson City player in the top 12 among the league's batting leaders, though he tops the circuit with 18 doubles in 40 games."
He even had a couple of mentions from the Cardinals major league site - www.stlouis.cardinals.mlb.com
..................................................................................................................
Daily farm reports from www.futureredbirds.net
August 9th - "Tyler Rahmatulla went 1-4 with a double and walk."
August 10th - "Tyler Rahmatulla went 2-for-6 with a RBI."
August 12th - "As we learned from Robert Stock two years ago, we need to be careful about the stock we put in JC numbers, but Tyler Rahmatulla went 2-for-4 w/ 1 2B, 1 HR, 1 R, and 1 RBI to put his line at .337/.427/.589 for the season."
August 13th - "Tyler Rahmatulla continued to rake, he hit a solo shot in 4 AB’s."
August 14th - "Tyler Rahmatulla (I think I am falling in love) went 3-for-3 w/ 2 2B, 1 R and 2 RBI."

Another great week for the kid! Nice job Tyler!
Today is an off day for Johnson City so we get to spend the day with Ty. Maybe we'll take little Tanner swimming. And a nice dinner at a normal dinner time is in order tonight. I think we're feeling a Texas Roadhouse steak. Then it's back to Cali tomorrow. I'm sad to leave but will be happy to be home.
Part two coming up very soon!

Yay.....they're here! Caylee & Tanner arrived in Orange County on Sunday morning and we are so happy they're here. I knew I was gonna love this little guy but I had NO idea! He is so precious. Such a good baby. And Caylee is an amazing mom!!
Great grammie dodo had a pool party this weekend and Tanner had a chance to meet many of his new relatives.
He and Ryder became quick friends.
So, a few more days here and then it's off to see Daddy in Tennessee!
