I am just not feeling good. My surgery is in two weeks and it couldn't come soon enough for me. I don't like it when I don't feel like me or when I feel like me in pain. This is not meant for pity...just the opposite.
Today was a bad day. We all have them. I tried to make the best of it but, let's face it, it sucked! However, I got home and this was waiting in my mailbox!!!!
I ordered this amazing piece of custom art from Kal Barteski. Talk about inspiration! I saw her Tiny Art Ladies awhile back and was so drawn to them (no pun intended). I saw myself in them. Each piece was an encouragement, a statement: love YOU for the amazing person you are. So, when I saw that Kal was taking custom orders though May 31st (and then NEVER again!!) , I needed one. She made this one just for ME! I gave her a little info on me, picked my favorite existing piece and let her artistic genius paint MY tiny lady.
I opened the envelope today and it just about made me cry. (Just about anything makes me cry these days...whacked out hormones: ugh). But there was a bonus...
be Bulletproof! YES! That's Kal's motto and you'll see it when you visit her blog. This little postcard thank you came with my custom tiny lady. The message on the back is priceless and I really, really, really needed to read it today.
This is what she says:
"Being bulletproof is about being fearless. It's about creating without giving a rip about what anybody else thinks. It's NOT about comparing or measuring or keeping score. It's about never giving in to the negative-nancy-pants and the dream-squashers that will crush your spirit if you let them. A Bulletproof Positive Attitude means keeping your eyes forward, your head high and carving out a serious path of your own. Your own way. When it comes to art: being bulletproof is the difference between making stuff and being stagnant. In life, being bulletproof is about rocking all night long - because this is the only chance you've got."
Is that genius or what? I think it is. I think it's a life choice...do you choose to live with a Bulletproof Positive Attitude? I sure do.
Thank you Kal for the wonderful art and the much needed pick me up today. YOU are inspirational.
Tomorrow, my bulletproof self will be creating up a storm.
I found Kai's blog almost a year ago. She is indeed the most incredible human being. So much inspiration in such a tiny package. The world is certainly better for her being here.

How awesome is that! The girl in your art piece almost looks like you. What she says is just amazing on how it captures you! Feel better my friend!

Stephanie, I don't know you but I do know Kal... we connected almost a year ago...I have since met her & love her like my very own daughter... She has touched me in such a remarkable way... If you go to my blog, you'll see how I actually ended up with a "few" ladies of my own... If you send me your e mail I have a perfect MAMBI pic of my husband to send you for your collection...I remember the beginning of MAMBI and it congers up the cutest stickers on the planet. I don't know what surgery you are headed for but my thoughts are with you...
